1.  Program modes of operation

Nokia Melodies program has 2 modes for melody editing and 2 modes for melody representation. The 2 modes of melody editing are editng through buttons pad, and getting a melody from a Melodies Collection File (*.mcf), which is a special file type for Nokia Melodies Program. And the 2 modes of melody representation are preview mode and key presses mode. You can switch between different modes using the big yellow half-elliptic buttons. You will know about them in details in the following sections.

2.  Editing melody

We have 2 editing modes as mentioned in previous section. First mode, Editing through buttons pad, is used when you have a hard copy of the melody, i.e. printed on paper, or you want to compose it by yourself. Of course, you may use your keyboard if you like. Also, you can just copy and past the melody from a web page by using the small past button above the melody editing box. Second mode, Getting melody from a collection file, is used when you have such collections or you made your own from the large melodies number found on web.

3.  Listening to melody preview

Once the melody is available in the melody text box by any way you like, you can listen to it exactly as you will listen to it from you mobile phone. You just need to click the Play button. By the way, don't forget to adjust the tempo. After you listen to it, you can decide if you want it on you mobile phone composer. If so, read the following section

4.  Listening to  melody key presses

Once you like the melody, switch to the Key Presses mode and then click Read to me. Now there is someone dictates you. Adjust the speed as you like.

5.  Working with Melodies Collection File (*.mcf)

Really, you get many collections with the program. But you can make your own. First try to open existing one to see how it looks. Once a Collection is open, you can listen to any melody in it just by clicking on it then clicking Play, or simply double click, and if you prefer keyboard, just select the melody then click Enter. You can edit your collection, i.e. add, edit then update, delete or rename a melody. Also you can order the collection as you want by moving each melody to the desired location in the collection. By the way, *.mcf is registered in your system, so double click it from windows explorer to  run Nokia Melodies and open the collection.
